SUNDAY SCHOOL: Good News Baptist Church offers a graded Sunday school with classes for all ages, nursery through adult. The Bible is our textbook and our competent teachers use materials that are true to the Word of God. The Sunday school classes meet in excellent educational facilities and are taught by dedicated teachers and workers.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH: This ministry is designed to meet the need of a worship service on the level of our children. During the adult morning worship service children ages 4 & 5 meet in the educational wing. Grades 1-6 assemble in the chapel. Our trained children's church workers involve the children in appropriate appealing programs.

GRADED CHOIRS: There are currently two children's choirs at Good News Baptist Church.  All children, ages four through 6th grade, are encouraged to participate. The Beginner Choir enrolls children age four through 2nd grade.  The Junior Choir enrolls children grades 3 through 6.  Both choirs meet each Sunday following the evening service.  The choirs are staffed with knowledgeable and trained leaders. The purpose of our children's choirs is two-fold: to provide an opportunity for your child to glorify God and to teach him about Jesus through the wonderful medium of Music.

NURSERY: Three nurseries are available during Sunday school and all worship services. These include birth to one year, one and two years, and three year olds. Trained and experienced workers staff our spacious and clean facilities enabling mothers to enjoy the services with the family. Also, a nursing mother's room is available in the nursery wing. A pager is issued to each mother enabling the nursery staff to summon her to the nursery in the event of an emergency.

MOMMY AND ME:  This ministry is designed to encourage and meet the fellowship needs of mothers with preschool children. The Mommy and Me fellowship/play group meets the second Tuesday morning of every month. Each month, moms and their toddlers visit a new and fun place such as the Portsmouth Children's Museum, Blue Bird Gap Farm, McDonalds Playplace, Chuck E.Cheese and various parks.  Click here for a schedule of our activities.
